Note: These prices are for all our models – Standard. Master and Jumbo. Keep in mind, freight will vary when you have multiple items. Almost every reasonable sized town has at least one depot and generally speaking we should know someone who can deliver to a location convenient to you.

As long as the business you nominate has access to a forklift and is willing you accept this delivery on your behalf.

We can deliver it to your door but it can be expensive. The central problem is Occupational Health and Safety Legislation. Somehow it has been decided that the average Aussie man cannot lift more than 25 kg or he might hurt himself. (Anything heavier than a slab of beer is strictly off-limits). Therefore a depot or business location where it can be unloaded by mechanical means. If you are unable to pick it up from a depot or business because you do not have a trailer, then I can arrange a taxi-truck or equivalent to get it to you. Taxi-truck operators (being self-employed) are generally more flexible and can arrange jobs on a case-by-case basis.

OK – contact us and give us your exact location. We can arrange a taxi truck to deliver anything anywhere. Even if you live 300 km west of Lightning Ridge we’ll find some way of getting it there.

Please ensure that the vehicle/trailer is suitable based on the dimension of the product noted below. Just remember to have a couple of good ropes or tie-down straps, and a flag for the overhang.

Tradies roof racks, yes. Roof racks on your sedan, no. The depots can refuse to load items on roof racks if it is not authorized to as per laws.

No, although I have had customers collect it in the back of vans. I would not recommend it. It takes a fair effort to push one of the packs into a van through the rear door.

When shipped.

A Jumbo model is sent to you on an oversized pallet that measures 272cm L x 92cm W x 30cm H and weighs 200kgs.

A Master model is sent to you on an oversized pallet that measures 272cm L x 92cm W x 30cm H and weighs 150kgs.

A Standard model is sent to you on an oversized pallet that measures 272cm L x 92cm W x 21cm H and weighs 100kg.

We manufacture each chicken tractor out of a series of panels.

A Jumbo or Master has 7 panels. A Standard has 5 panels.

Each panel already has the mesh, Colorbond, doors and hinges, latches, and all the other components already attached. Around the edges of each panel, we have pre-drilled bolt holes and assembly just involves lining up the bolt holes and tightening the bolts.

Metal tin snip cutters to cut the metal strips off the flat pack. A set of spanners is needed to tighten the bolts that hold the panels together, and a drill with a 5/16″ hex drive is needed for the handles and privacy screen. All fasteners are supplied and holes are pre-drilled.

About 60 minutes for a Standard, 90 minutes for a Master or Jumbo.

Under normal circumstances, we have all three of our basic models (Standard / Master / Jumbo) in stock at all times. All chicken tractors will be dispatched within 2 – 5 working days. Also, please note that as a small business, if we are at a trade show, the factory will be closed and we won’t be able to ship your order until we get back. All of our chicken tractors are 92cm tall. We do this for several reasons –

1. chickens are only 30 – 40cm tall, so any extra height is dead space.
2. the taller the coop the more it weighs and thus the more difficult it is to move
3. the 92cm height packs well and can be freighted more easily than taller models.

Now, the Standard model has a door at either end – one door is for the chickens to walk in and out and the other end is for you to have access to the eggs.

Access to the laying area inside the Master and Jumbo is through the roof of the shed end which is hinged. As long as your armpits are 92cm off the ground and your arms are 60cm long, then everything you need is in easy reach.

We attend several field days and trade shows each year – see our Facebook Page for details of where we are. When we travel to these shows we are only too happy to bring your orders along with us and normally there will be no freight charge. So, if you live between our factory and a field day site, or if you are going to a field day and want to meet us there – place your order online and discuss it with us. (Please note if you want to collect a chicken tractor from us on a field day it will either need to be before or after the day as we cannot leave our stand and wander off to the car park in the middle of the day).

We do not do custom models. Let me explain – we manufacture hundreds of chicken tractors each year and therefore we have become quite efficient allowing us to produce them at a reasonable cost. Any deviation from the norm results in a much slower production rate. The kind of changes we can make would be adding another door into the meshed sides, or doubling the length of a chicken tractor. The kind of thing we cannot do is make a chicken tractor 30 cm taller than normal or 30 cm narrower as this changes the raw materials we need to use and changes the way the chicken tractor flat packs.
